Steam Bath Therapy
Saunas and steam baths have been used for centuries as powerful forms of heat therapy, known for promoting relaxation and supporting overall health. While both help the body in similar ways, they work a little differently:
-
Saunas use dry heat, typically reaching temperatures between 170–190°F, creating a warm, dry environment.
-
Steam baths use moist heat, with a lower temperature range of 100–120°F, but much higher humidity, creating a steamy, humid experience.
Udvartana (Herbal powder massage)
Janu Basti involves the therapeutic application of warm medicated oil or a herbal decoction over the knee joint. A dough ring made of herbal paste is placed around the knee, creating a reservoir to hold the warm oil. This therapy can be performed on one or both knees, depending on the individual’s condition.
Vaman Therapy – Ayurvedic Detox Treatment
Vaman is a therapeutic vomiting procedure in Ayurveda, designed to eliminate toxins (vitiated doshas) from the body. It’s especially beneficial for individuals with a Kapha imbalance. During the treatment, toxins are loosened and mobilized, allowing them to be expelled through the upper gastrointestinal tract.
